Event Host Agreement

1. Acceptance and scope

This Agreement is between Hangpost and any member who creates or hosts a hangout, event, class, or gathering through the Service (a "Host"). On Hangpost, anyone can post a hangout, so you accept this Agreement when you create your account: it is presented with, and incorporated into, the Terms of Service you agree to at sign-up. If your account was created before sign-up included this Agreement, you accept it when you first create a hangout.

This Agreement incorporates the Terms of Service, the Community Guidelines, and the Privacy Policy. Capitalized terms not defined here have the meaning given in the Terms. If this Agreement conflicts with the Terms about hosting, this Agreement controls.

2. What a Host is, and what Hangpost is not

A Host is a member who posts a hangout and invites other members to attend ("Attendees"). Hangouts are member-organized, real-world gatherings.

Hangpost is a neutral platform. We do not organize, sponsor, supervise, control, attend, insure, or vet hangouts or the people at them. We are not the Host's employer, partner, agent, or joint venturer, and a hangout is not a Hangpost event, even when it appears on the board or is promoted. The Host is solely responsible for the planning, safety, legality, and conduct of the hangout.

3. Host commitments

As a Host, you agree to:

  • Host in good faith for the stated purpose. Show up, be the person and run the activity the post describes, and honor the stated capacity, cost, timing, and accessibility.
  • Default to public places and groups. Hangouts default to public venues and groups of three or more; one-on-one meets should grow out of prior group co-attendance. Do not use a hangout to engineer a private 1:1 with a stranger.
  • Follow the Community Guidelines and all applicable law, including any venue, permit, health and safety, alcohol-service, and accessibility obligations that apply where you control the venue or activity.
  • No romance-by-ambush, no harassment, no discrimination. Hangpost is not a dating product; using hosting to solicit romantic or sexual introductions is a reportable violation.
  • No undisclosed commercial activity. A hangout may not be turned into advertising, an MLM or recruiting pitch, or paid promotion except under a separate written agreement with Hangpost (§5).
  • Manage the gathering responsibly. Use the host tools to set norms and remove Attendees when needed, respond to safety concerns, and do not encourage illegal or dangerous activity.
  • Report safety incidents at or arising from a hangout promptly through the in-app report flow.
  • Do not collect Attendees' personal data beyond what the Service shows you for the hangout, and do not use it for anything other than that hangout. No exporting, no marketing lists.

4. No vetting; assumption of risk; responsibility for your event

  • No background checks; no vetting; no guarantee. We do not conduct criminal-background screening of Hosts or Attendees and do not verify any member's identity, intentions, or history beyond the platform measures described in the Terms and in-app. Meeting people from the internet in real life carries inherent risk. Hosts and Attendees are responsible for their own safety.
  • Attendees assume their own risk under the Terms. Every Attendee accepts the assumption-of-risk and release provisions in Section 5 of the Terms of Service as a condition of using the Service and RSVPing. You are not an insurer of your Attendees; you are also not relieved of responsibility for your own negligent or wrongful acts.
  • You indemnify Hangpost for your event. To the maximum extent permitted by law, you will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Hangpost and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from claims, damages, and costs arising out of your hangout; injury, harm, or property damage at or arising from it; your breach of this Agreement, the Terms, or law; or your content. The person who runs the gathering carries the gathering's liability; the platform carries the platform's.
  • Hangpost's liability is limited as set out in the Terms (the Section 5 release and the Section 14 limitation of liability). Nothing in this Agreement expands our liability for member-organized gatherings.

5. Commercial and paid hosting

Most Hosts are members hosting for free, and only Sections 1 through 4, 6, and 7 apply to them.

  • A Host operating a business event (a venue, studio, or professional organizer) must also enter a separate partner agreement with Hangpost before promoting a commercial event.
  • If we ever invite you into a paid host program, separate written program terms (including compensation, verified-attendance rules, and independent- contractor status) will apply and will be provided before any payment. Paid hosts may never buy, fake, or incentivize signups or RSVPs.

6. Photos and Attendee privacy

If you take or post photos at a hangout, respect your Attendees' wishes: honor opt-outs, do not post images of Attendees who object, and never post images of minors (the Service is 18+). Content should be about the place and the experience, never targeting an identifiable person.

7. Enforcement; stopping; survival

We may remove a hangout, suspend hosting privileges, or terminate an account immediately for a breach of this Agreement, the Terms, or the Community Guidelines, or for any safety reason, consistent with our enforcement policies. You may stop hosting at any time. Sections 2, 4, and 6 survive termination.
